Welcome to my Web page. My name is Mariana Rodrigues and it is a joy for me to be in the kitchen thinking about which new dessert to share with you all.

Ever since my childhood in Caracas, Venezuela, I have dreamed about having a bakery where people can go and eat delicious desserts. I was always in the family kitchen, alongside my mother and grandmother, learning traditional recipes but also experimenting with different ingredients to create new exciting desserts and cakes.

I studied Law in my home country and successfully completed a Master in Communication, Public Relations and Protocol course while living in Spain. On moving to England I decided to change my career to something sweeter and more enjoyable. This is the reason I decided to start baking from my own kitchen… because I just love it.

I used all the recipes that my mother and grandmother taught me, and also the many others I have developed over the years.

I have studied the art of cake baking with many different teachers around Leicester, such as Elaine Preston and Kim. I also took a course at Squires Kitchen and Pretty Witty Cakes with Suzy Witt. All of them have helped me to develop my cake and desserts decoration techniques.

I always celebrate what it takes - courage, family and friends support, hard work and determination- to go from dreaming to doing, because “if you dream it makes it happen”.
